Looking for a Part-Time Herd Manager

Our Therapeutic Riding Program located in Maple Ridge BC is looking for a Herd Manager. We run 6 days a week from our 17 acres with two barns and an indoor arena. The Herd Manager is responsible for the health care plan for our therapeutic herd of 10 horses and looking after 6 boarded horses on the property as well as managing a barn staff of 3-4 people.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include monitoring the herd’s health, developing a nutrition plan, creating pasture turnout plans, training new staff on herd care, as well as regular barn labor (turnout, feeding, stall/paddock cleaning).

Ideal Candidates

  • Must be a confident & empathetic horse handler with knowledge of horse behavior & equine health.
  • Must be able to perform the physical and written duties of the job.
  • Must have people management skills.

Schedule: 12-18 hrs /week (5-6 days a week) at a Therapeutic Riding Center in Maple Ridge, BC
