Introducing our new NFTRA ‘herd’ members

As many of you know our Head Coach Fionna is officially retiring this year. It is a well deserved retirement as she has dedicated over 30 years to NFTRA!!

NFTRA has been in existence for 43 years in Maple Ridge providing therapeutic riding to communities north of the Fraser. We are sad to see her go however we are ready for the challenge of a major transition and expanding our team so NFTRA can continue to serve the community for many years to come.

RachaelSorsabalNew Head Instructor – Rachael Sorsabal. Rachael comes to us from WA, USA as a PATH International Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor where she taught for 6years. Prior to joining the world of therapeutic riding Rachael completed her Post-Graduate work in biology and was an educator developing curriculum for ecology & biology programs along with being a Track and Field Coach.  This Fall Session she is teaching Thursday and Friday afternoons at NFTRA. If you have chance to chat with her be sure to ask her about Pickleball at the BC Senior Games or her publications on the owl. 😉 She is invested in education and the mission of therapeutic riding and will make a great asset to our NFTRA team.  Welcome RACHAEL!

Jacquie HummelmanNew Instructor Jacquie Hummelman (CanTRA AI) has also joined our team teaching lessons on Saturdays. She is very excited to be joining the team at NFTRA. She comes to us from Abbotsford where she lives with her horse Joey. She (yes, a girl!) is 7 years old and she used to be a racehorse! She likes her new job; which is learning how to jump. My other hobbies include kayaking and playing sports ( mostly soccer, volleyball and softball).

Welcome JACQUIE!
