About Us

North Fraser Therapeutic Riding Association (NFTRA) is a non-profit charitable organization enriching the lives of children and adults who experience physical, mental, emotional or social challenges by providing safe and professional therapeutic equine programming.

NFTRA conducts 4 annual riding sessions of approximately 8-13 weeks each in the summer, fall, winter and spring. On average we serve over 100 clients per week. At the end of the spring session we hold our In-House Horse Show where riders showcase, in competition, what they have learned in their lessons.

As a contributing member of our community NFTRA liaises with organizations such as School District 42, Sprott Shaw Community College,  Douglas College, and Youth Diversion programs.

We rely on donations from generous sponsors, community groups and individuals. The donations of time given by our wonderful volunteers is at the heart of our program.
